Just like how movie studios release their Oscar bait in December, it seems the last few weeks of the year have yielded a disproportionate amount of funny corrections, headlines or tweets.
Craig Silverman’s year-end round-up is as good as always, but he may have published it too early. He missed, among other things, this correction request:

Accurate headlines are far from Silverman’s domain, but this deserves to be preserved: a firefighter in Fall River, Massachusetts, was accused of acting unethically when he accepted two pounds of scallops as a gift while on duty. The firefighter’s last name?
We hope a clever copy editor at The Patriot Ledger got a few extra vacation days for that.
